Comments Thread For: Langford Ready To Accept Billy Joe Saunders Offer For December

Tommy Langford admits if a shot at Billy Joe Saunders' world title is on the table for December, he wouldn't have to think twice before accepting. Saunders (23-0, 12KOs), who makes the first defence of his WBO world middleweight Title against Artur Akavov on Saturday 22nd October in Cardiff, confirmed his intentions to return as soon as December should he come through unscathed.

If BJS is fighting again in December vs a ranked challenger in the WBO, I'd rather it be Sulecki than Langford.

Let's be clear on Saunders, he's looking to cash in on his belt, and that's just a question of who can give him the biggest payday for losing his belt, Golovkin or Canelo.

Meantime he won't fight anyone who could win and jeopardise that. He will ride the belt against C grade opponents as long as he can, but won't face anyone who could win.

So he says he's ready for GGG - sure he is, but he expects to lose and just a question of how much cash he can take away from it. He'll give it a game effort for a couple of rounds then if he doesn't land that lucky punch, he'll duck out and head to the bank the moment he feels one of GGG's bombs.

He's basically holding the belt hostage until he finds out who will pay the most for it, GGG or Canelo. My guess is Canelo will pay more as it increases his bargaining power with a GGG fight later one. Saunders is just playing the bidding game - but he needs the belt to make the money, so he won't risk it against even a B grade fighter (eg Rosado).

Lou DiBella is just going to sit and watch everyone except Khurtsidze get a shot at that WBO belt

Lou DiBella is keeping Khurtsidze inactive and soon he'll lose his #1 position as a result. Before Khurtsidze got himself ranked #1, Magomedov had it. Being #1 doesn't make you mandatory, it just positions you for an eliminator.
