Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz Inks Promotional With Matchroom Boxing

Hot off the press, Hearn's pulled off a coup here

Exciting heavyweight star Luis 'King Kong' Ortiz has joined forces with Matchroom Boxing as he plans an assault on the Heavyweight World titles. Unbeaten Ortiz is one of the most feared fighters on the planet and has blasted away 22 of his 25 opponents inside the distance, with the vicious Cuban's last two outings underlining his fearsome reputation as dismissed Bryant Jennings in seven rounds to land the interim WBA crown in December and then destroyed Tony Thompson in six rounds in March.

People on here were saying he should stay with golden boy and get 80k a fight.

He'll get over a million for Joshua.

Luis "King Kong" Ortiz signs with Matchroom Boxing

      According to Fan Dan

Breaking news: Heavyweight Luis "King Kong" Ortiz, who holds an interim world title and is perhaps the most feared big man in boxing, signed a promotional agreement with England's Matchroom Boxing, the company announced on Saturday. No terms disclosed but it comes six weeks after Ortiz paid $1 million to buy out his deal with Golden Boy.

didnt see this coming, hopefully it results in some good moves, would be typical of modern day boxing climate for a talent like ortiz not to ever get a big fight. can see hearn throwing him to the wolves which would be good, got a couplef of years to make as much money out of this guy as possible. that probably cancels out the joshua fight though unless ortiz really impresses the UK public, which he may well do.

Wow this comes out the blue.

Guess he'll fight Whyte and winner gets Joshua.

I would think the end goal would be to make Joshua vs Ortiz a 20 million pound ppv that would be made.

100% they'll match him with Whyte to build a fight for Joshua.
