I'm about 99.99% sure I'm correct. Linares was stripped earlier this year by the WBC and named champion in recess. Dejan then fought some no name for the vacant title.

Since Linares is champion in recess he's automatically the #1 contender. What makes it so confusing is that Linares didn't force his mandatory shot against Dejan before facing Crolla for more money and lesser risk.

Promoters called Linares vs Crolla an unification, it was not. Boxrec didn't recognize it as a unification fight, the WBC has Dejan ranked as champion, Wikipedia has Dejan ranked as champion, and Ring Magazine also Dejan ranked as WBC champion.

Now of them recognizes Linares as WBC Champion because the Diamond Belt is a trophy not an actual championship.

Bro just stop you look real bad right now....lol..Zlalaltal was the mando for Linares -- you understand how champion in recess works? apparently not.

The WBC declared Linares vs. Crolla a unification ( link below ) and he was not stripped he had a injury as such he was made 'Champion in recess' further more the notion that you are presenting is violating not only the policy of the WBC but all of the major sanctioning bodies as they do not rank Champions but you claim Linares is a mando lol! Just think about it for a second -- a unified lineal champion is a mando for a scrub that hasnt even made a defense for his trinket.

Exactly Linares is the true champ. He was the champ and was mandated to defend his title against Dejan who was number 1 contender for WBC. They agreed to fight and Linares got injured. So they made Linares Champ in recess. He got healthy and got a ton of money and offered a better fight unification against Crolla. Unification always trumps mandatory fight and is allowed by these organizations including WBC but since the WBC already changed Linares status as Champ in recess this is where everything get's murky. Had Linares signed to fight Crolla a few months earlier then WBC and WBA titles would all officially been on the line and Dejan would of had to wait for his title shot. Instead they jumped the gun letting Dejan fight a nobody and claim the WBC belt and made Linares champ in recess. WBC even recognizes Linares is the true champ and didn't want to penalize him for taking a better fight that would basically establish the lineal champ which is why they created this dumb WBC Diamond belt basically like the WBA Super champ title. Either way as far as I'm concerned and most boxing fans and experts Linares is the true champ and Dejan just holds a WBC jr belt he didn't beat the champ.

The real question is Linares has a rematch that may be in the contract for the first Crolla fight. He also has a mandatory for the WBA. And Dejan and Linares is mandated by WBC. So who the F get's the fight first Crolla, Dejan, Petrov (WBA mandatory)?

Edit: I dont know about the time line for the WBA good question.

I said it before and I'll say it again! **** all these championship belts. They're all a joke!
That's why I have no problem with Canelo dropping that POS belt when he was mandated to fight ggg. People keep saying he was scared, he dropped the prestigious belt, ect.... **** all them belts. Canelo calls the shots, he is the A-side and he don't need no POS belt to prove he's the A-side.
Little g can keep all them belts, they prove nothing. End of the day he needs Canelo, not the other way around.

This is not really an issue to debate. WBC recognizes Dejan as their champion. Linares isn't considered the WBC Champion by anyone including the WBC. I mean I don't know what you don't understand about that. Linares was stripped and Dejan won the vacant title. The WBC Diamond Belt isn't an actual title, it's a trophy.

After a fractured hand derailed Jorge Linares’ mandatory title defense against Dejan Zlaticanin, the WBC vacates the title while naming Linares “champion in recess.”

                    Check the champions

Even in the article you posted it says the winner of Linares vs Crolla must face the Champion Dejan Zlanticanin.

If Linares decides to move forward with the Crolla rematch before facing Dejan he will be stripped of his status.

It seems to me you don't understand how the system works. Dejan is the active champion and Linares is the champion in recess. If they face one another it would be an unification. Linares vs Crolla was not a unification.

I thought is was common knowledge what champion in recess was.

I like linares but if he has one of those lapses he does most fights, it'll be lights out

Dejan is kinda crude and wide with his shots but has power
