Linares ; he holds the 'Diamond' belt and Zlalahtha has the regular.....kinda like the WBA with regular and super champion.

The WBC Diamond Championship and the WBA Super Championship are nothing alike. The WBA Super Championship is the WBA's recognized champion.

The WBC Diamond title is more of a vanity belt or trophy given out on "special" occasions. It doesn't have mandatory obligations and isn't defended. If you remember WBC awarded the belt to the winner of Marquez vs Pacquiao but no one considers Marquez a former Welterweight Champion.

So to answers Hanz question, Dejan Zlaticanin is the WBC Champion, Linares is the #1 contender and current WBA Champion.

So does Linares have to fight Crolla or nahhh? If he refuses the rematch to fight Zlat, then what? I feel like these things wouldn't be that much of a problem if most boxers fight every 4 months or so, instead of once a year... (although I acknowledge Linares has an injury)

That is a excellent fight, fans of both fighters will be interesting to see how this plays out though with Dejan Z being with Haymon/PBC and Linares with GBP. More confusing with these damn Belts, so Linares has a Diamond WBC Belt? Whatever the *** that is and Linares has the Regular GOLD WBC Belt?

Regardless would love to see them unify!

Funny how the WBC declared Linares vs. Crolla a unification and that Linares held the 'Regular' WBC title but according to you hes the mando? you got it twisted...I personally think its BS and they should not devalue the title but anyone that knows boxing recognizes Linares as THE WBC champion not Zlalalta who 'Won' the regular title off some bum yet Linares just beat the #2. for the Linear title.

This is confusing. Linares has a rematch apparently with Crolla in the works, a mandatory with Petrov. That doesn't even include a fight that got cancelled with Zlaticanin.

So my question is who does Linares have to fight first from the 3 above?

Also I thought Zlaticanin was fighting Mikey Garcia next? What direction is that going?

Read the article - the title is a little missleading ( typical boxinscene ) basically what the WBC is doing is the same as the WBA they want to consolidate the belt......however they gave Zlalaltal permission to make a voluntary defense in the meantime this opens Linares to defend his titles vs. Crolla....well thats how I read it.
