Let's not forget Tim is coming off a loss. Danny Garcia is a legacy fight. 2 former conquerors of the JWW division who moved up and won championships at WW. DSG is the champion in the weight with the deepest resume and biggest name. Bradley already beat Vargas. Porter in a lot of ways is a younger bigger version of Bradley. Thats a tough fight but Tim has the experience there. It would be very competitive. Obviously if he could get Floyd that would be the fight to take but DSG is the realistic fight. I've wanted to see this fight ever since DSG KO'd Khan and succeeded Tim as the man at JWW. Its the fight you never thought you would get that still has luster.

I didn't see you mentioned Garcia. In order for him to win that fight, he would need to take it asap after a tune up cause between him ballooning up to 190lbs and age, time is not on his side. Garcia is probably one of the easier "top" guys for Bradley. But time is ticking...Danny Garcia is a legacy fight. 2 former conquerors of the JWW division who moved up and won championships at WW. Yeah a Berto fight to me is the perfect tune up fight to prepare for DSG. If he can't get passed a Berto then he's in trouble. He's too well rounded and crafty for Berto imo. Meanwhile, if DSG is left standing after the alleged Thurman unification early next year then that fight has some real appeal. Haymon seems intent on making Garcia-Thurman so we will have to see if thats really how it shakes out. Bradley and Berto both need fights so that makes sense next.I didn't see you mentioned Garcia. Berto doesn't have the same punching power after multiple bicep tears. Who has he KO'd besides the heartless no chin Ortiz? Josesito Lopez? Lopez could have kept fighting on but the ref waived it off. Berto has some momentum but he's limited. Hes not going to hurt Bradley the way he hurt those 2 guys. If Berto cant stop a guy like Upsher there is no way his shots will bother Tim. Bradley was a tank at JWW and has physical strength at WW. He just isnt a big puncher. His chin and conditioning are great though. He can land punches on Berto all night and outland him. I didn't like the way Andre started in the Ortiz fight. Too hittable for a crafty guy like Tim. Its a fun scrap. Both are athletic fighters that like to mix it up. Its a distance fight and the fighter that outworks the other would win.Comment

Except that that isn't true. Why give him time because it also has benefits to Haymon and improves his product while further weakening everyone else not willing to work with him. All boxing fans know these two sides have been at odds, so bringing it together in sort of a face off can be something to build up and on. It will lose it's appeal over time which is why it can't go on forever.
Haymon has a decent roster but Top Rank is a strong enough horse that it can add something of value. Arum would also have to share some of the costs which PBC is looking to limit and Arum for all his issues will put his money where his mouth is.
Still not an easy deal to make but it can be mutually beneficial if done properly which is really the only way it gets done.
Friendships aside, a fight with Andre Berto does significantly more for Keith Thurman's career than a fight with Timothy Bradley, and setting up Thuraman-Berto won't end up with Haymon having to find a way to cover Bradley's apparently massive fight guarantee.
As good a fighter as Terrence Crawford is, Adrien Broner going to Scotland for Ricky Burns (winning that fight), getting the WBA 140lb belt, and setting the stage for fights with Omar Figueroa Jr and Mikey Garcia are better TV fights, better money fights, and can be set up without much hassle.
Heck, with DeGale/Jack ready to go and the WBA 168 belt coming vacant, Haymon can look to build around Jack/Degale/Callum Smith/Groves/Dirrell brothers/Bute/Mayweather's 168s to max out on the US/UK/Canadian fights, while hoping that ChavezJr eventually returns to form to add the Mexican audience for the division.
Haymon can keep things to his own camp and still help put on really good fights (and that's without mentioning the sheer ton of prospects that Haymon has been moving along on his shows).
Arum has Lomachenko (a fighter that Haymon could really utilize at 130lbs to gauge things for Pedraza), but that's about it, in terms of fighters who Haymon should go out of his way to try and work with.
For the benefit of keeping Arum out of his business (or ****ing up the reputation/relationships that he's been able to build in boxing over the last 15 years), I'm fairly certain that Haymon will gladly take the loos on that.Comment
