I thought floyd is one of the recipient of this hometown or a-side decision too, floyd vs castillo 1, castillo can totally win it if he's the a-side in that fight but alas he's not, doesn't have to do with color, they are actually looking into who's the a-side in the fight, and the judges will try to favor the game into whoever is the current a-side, if there is no clear a-side, hometown decision can then affect the decision.

Pernell whitaker has been the recipient of this multiple times, but not because of his color, but because he's not the a-side on those big fights, it has been mistaken as color decision, but in fact, the judges are looking at who's the a-side in that fight and they will tip the balance into that a-sides favor, a-side comes first before hometown decision.
