Haye v Wilder in April 2017?

Has this rumour been on here or anywhere else?

I heard it first hand from a decent source, not that i can give names away but i don't really have any need to make it up either and neither do they.

Haye is ranked number 5 in the WBC too so it could happen. Anyway, there might be nothing in it at all. Just something i'd heard from a source that would be "in the know" - I'm not sure how it works though because i thought Povetkin will face Stiverne and the winner fights Wilder, but that fight isn't even confirmed yet?

But as i say, might be bulls*it. Just passing on what i'd heard that they were in talks for a fight in April 2017.

Would be a good fight! Wilder would need to tighten up that defense.

Save some of that for Haye.

That sparring match doe...Haye got the best of Deontay but Deontay can definitely catch Haye coming in with that bomb...so we'll see would be a great fight but I'd rather see Wilder in with another belt holder...Haye duckin' Shannon and I can't respect that...

True, but I think Haye is one of those unique fighters that can knock people out without having to throw a wild hook. He has the power while he is boxing.

              Haye's power is excellent.

I know Chisora isn't great but he is very tough and could take a shot. Haye effectively ended that fight with a left hand out of a southpaw position while going backwards, Chisora did get up but it was game over from there. Considering he's a right handed fighter, that's some power when you also consider nobody ever did that to Chisora before or since.

He also had Valuev on ***** street with a left hand.

I reckon IF Haye has anything left or even close to what he was, he is still a very dangerous fight for any heavyweight. If he catches you clean, you're getting hurt and he's a very good finisher. If he had caught AJ with the shot Whyte did, AJ wouldn't have made it out of the round.

I doubt if this would be Wilder's comeback fight.. But if it is one or two fights down the line then its an interesting matchup.. A lot have been made of their sparring video, but Haye himself admitted that it was just the 45secs of the entire sparring & Wilder did hold his own.. That said, it was just sparring & it was way back, Wilder has improved since then & Haye has aged & slowed.. a KO either way is plausible..

Yeah, If there's any truth in it, then i'd imagine there's going to be a fight in-between for both.

I didn't get to know any real details, just that there had been talks for a fight around April 2017. Maybe it's just putting the wheels in motion should they both fight and come through their fights with wins.

If Wilder comes back in top shape and Haye fights him then. It'll be really interesting because Haye has declined, he clearly looks slower due to the weight gain and age and Wilder has improved his overall skillset.
