Jones literally only fought 2/3 meaningful fights at 160 he never fought anyone nearly as good as Golovkin
James Toney was overrated he held a fake undefeated label when Jones fought him he was beat several times before hand
Bernard Hopkins a good fight but even then Jones still had a fairly competitive fight with him and that was when Hopkins wasn't in his prime

To be brutally honest Roy Jones Jr resume at MW is absolute trash it only becomes good when he moves to 168-175 but people will conveniently use some lame excuse oh he ummm got weak because he went to heavyweight lmao....
He barely weighed what a heavyweight should have.

I'm talking about one massively overrated HOF'er I don't really give af what you think some people are just scared to move forward and they think everything back in the past was better face the facts Jones was being labelled in the same fashion that GGG is only conveniently now that he is past his best people miss the prime version of Roy.
You Yanks are insufferable, the middleweight division is blooming but because one man that dominates it isn't American you'll say its crap just like you do with the cruisers the heavies and all the other lighter divisions just because you hold no serious stakes in them.

            Roy once said
"And they got the nerve to say I ain't fight nobody
I just make 'em look like nobody"
Proves my point, you dumbfxcks are just living in the past you along with the nuthuggers on here probably were one of Roy's critics back in the day

You move up If you need to move up, the middleweight division is better than 168 and 175 right now and it has the potential to get better no reason to move up.

It really doesn't matter how overrated you think James Toney was. The fact is the man has 90+ fights, is a future HOF'er and has fought from MW all the way up to Heavyweight.

We can't even get Golovkin to fight Kovalev, let alone Bermaine Stiverne. James Toney fighting Sam Peter twice and Haseem Rahman is like GGG fighting Stiverne twice and Joseph Parker. Come on man.

Listen, I understand GGG has fought Adama, Monroe Jr, Kell Brook and Kassim Ouma, but you can't compare the two. It's not even close.

James Toney won his first 46 fights. I understand you think because GGG won his first 34 fights in one division that this is HUGE news, but he's nowhere near the level of greatness as someone like James Toney.

If you gave Toney props and GGG, I might be able to take you seriously

And for you to say that Roy Jones fought nobodies, you can't be serious.

Virgil Hill is one of the top 10 greatest LHW's in the history of boxing.

Has GGG beat anyone the equivalent of the past it Tito Trinidad Jones fought? Maybe Kell Brook would be the equivalent, IDK. I'm not to sure Kell Brook would beat that version of Trinidad. IDK, it's debatable.

RJJ would wreck him, prime vs prime.

GGG seems flat footed to me.

Why do people keep saying this?

GGG was letting it happen, are you guys seriously that ignorant that you think fighters don't fight differently depending on their opponent?

                    wow.

You look at speed WAY too much ask any trainer they will tell you timing beats speed you can't use your speed much when you're being timed or pushed up against the ropes hence why superior footwork can negate a lot of the good things Roy can do, Roy would need to fight on the backfoot luckily for GGG that is not the way you beat him.

TBF If we're talking about 160 resume only Roy Jones Jr record at that division is very scarce he hasn't fought many people good, GGG would go through Roy's entire record easily obviously I doubt GGG has the size to make 175lbs but you shape them down to a size he can fight at he'd have zero problem beating them and there is no way in gods green hell would he get owned by Tarver.
                      This is utterly ridiculous

Golovkin (who's best win is a vey average Lemieux or a welterweight) would go through Roy's resume easy? Golovkin fans have become the single most delusional in boxing. Golovkin would not go through Hopkins or Toney, he is taylor-made for both. That 'over-rated' James Toney was 44-0 before running into Jones.

Jones beat Bernard Hopkins with one hand btw, he had a broken right hand before the fight started.

Timing beats speed if you have better timing, Golovkin's timing is not even close to Jones', Kell Brook was making Golovkin hit air and rocking his head like a speed-ball and Golovkin had to resort to brawling. Toney was a FAR better boxer than Golovkin, and significantly faster, and he couldn't lay a glove on Jones, Golovkin would look like nothing more than a plod forward slugger. You talk about resume, yet Golovkin has been seen to have very good power against bums, but he also landed plenty of power punches against a WW last time out and couldn't drop him.

Honestly, it's as if some people haven't even bothered to watch a prime Jones.
