How is it that most fighters can lose once and are viewed as shot and exposed but Salido can regularly go to war and is always considered a stiff test for anyone? Seriously Salido is something else. 4th quarter keeps looking better and better.

oh I dont know about that. Gatti could have had a dozen losses and still sell out the boardwalk. Guys like Soto Karass, Jhonny Gonzalez, Edner Cherry, Raymundo Beltran, Mauricio Hererra, etc will always be fun to watch, no matter how many losses they get.

And I would have included Rosado as well, but he laid an egg against Monroe......

I know we are entering the 4th quarter of the year and so far I got Salido vs Frank Vargas as The Fight Of The Year..... This Salido dude could probably play Strong Safety for the Dallas Cowboys He is one tough dude but I am gonna pick Miura for the win

Pacmans vs Vargas, Kovalev vs Ward, Loma vs Walter, Salido vs Miuara.Damm Great for boxing, plus if we get GGG vs Jacobs.

The funny thing is if Canelo was healthy, HBO would have done Canelo vs. a bum instead of Lomachenko-Walters, Salido-Miura, and hopefully Golovkin-Jacobs. Who in their right mind would want to see Canelo vs. Monroe over the 3 fights I mentioned? No wonder this sport is on life support.
            Great post, agree completely.

If that's what it takes for HBO to give us good match-ups, then I'm fine with that .

I would say the sport is in a transitional stage, but certainly isn't doing that bad when we look at it on a worldwide basis. Even if we're adding in the duds like Floydie/Pac etc. Remember there are many areas where practically any card (televised or not) packs the fans in. And contrary to what some may think, what we see on TV isn't more than a fourth of the fight cards on any given weekend. Obviously, there are levels to almost all sports, but IMO boxing will power past the Haymon speed bump and do even better next year.

As for Canelo, he will probably take a couple mid range MW fights, then go after GGG. So with that probable in 2017 along with some other great fights, next year has a lot of potential.

Miura is probably going to beat the breaks off of Salido in the mid rounds but man this should be exciting until that point.

Let's hope Salido wins so Lomachenko can get his chance again
