When has Cotto ever went for a easy fight? He doesn't!!
He has alway fought top competition. He fought Pac at catch weight when he was already having trouble at making 147. Fought Margarita when others where to afraid. He has always fought top of his division regardless of the odds. The only person he didn't fight that was a top name in his era was Oscar.
I don't know why so many people dislike him but he has always been a warroir. Always gives a good fight except maybe one and tgat was against Trout where it looked like he gave up.
So again, what is wrong with Cotto?

I agree, he's become a ducker of sorts....

Wouldn't call him a ducker, but more of a business man. He's given us the fans enough of his blood for us to watch and enjoy his selective fights. I agree, I'd rather not watch him go after a belt. But, I hope the Peterson fight comes off. Then maybe a Brook fight. There are nice match ups for him. He's a undersized 154, oversized 147. There are a few guys just like him that fit the bill, like Peterson and Brook.

its not that huge a fight here really, cottos not seen as a world class fighter. Every time a casual fan has tuned in to watch him (v mayweather, pacquiao, canelo) hes lost comfortably.

Hmm I wonder if Cotto-Brook happens? Both seem to want to fight at 154 and Brook has now joined the big name fray with the Triple G fight. Cotto needs a marquee opponent and I can't think of a better big name opponent at 54 he can have a chance to have success against.
