Comments Thread For: Wladimir Klitschko vs. Anthony Joshua? Yes, Please.

By Cliff Rold - The cancellation of the rematch between world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and former Wladimir Klitschko, the latest cancellation anyways, was a downer in a year that has had its share. A slow start to 2016 seemed to be met with a surge through the middle months of the year.

Wlad needs a fight been messed around long enough dude ain't fighting until late November early December at the earliest, dude looked in superb condition in July and was clearly more than ready with only five weeks from his last aborted fight with Fists of Fluff.

If this fight happens Hearn is the man, I have my doubts.

Suicide mission for Vlad. Can't imagine him accepting such a severe challenge so swiftly in his boxing twilight.

Would be kind of cool but horrible for the sport if Wlad ended up beating Joshua and then Wilder lol

This is a big jump in class for Joshua. Charles Martin is a bum, that won a bogus belt in a bogus way. Wlad is still arguably the best in the division. But if he can fight he can fight. So make it happen.

I think this fight makes a lot of sense and has upside for both Klitschko and Joshua. Klitschko doesn't have too many fights left in him (that's obvious), he's in the twilight of his career and a win over Joshua helps his legacy and maybe even gives him momentum into his next big fight. Several years ago Klitschko signed a multi-fight deal with a Germany television network for something like 6 fights. I think he wants to fufill that obligation. Winning over a young hungry lion like Joshua gives him life and solidifies his spot at number 1 IMO and gives him a reason to fight on.

For Joshua, Klitschko would be an awesome name to have on the resume and fighting him gives him good experience. Wlad is a skilled master of the game and beating him says something.

I like this fight and hope it happens.

He signed a 5 fight deal last year.. Actually Boente in a recent interview said that its not necessary that the 5 fight deal has to be completed with RTL - even i Was confused when I heard it.. Even if they have such a deal, so effectively there are 4 fights left on his deal..
