If he were lighter on his feet, I think Canelo would have a much better chance, but Alvares moves in the ring like a 45 year old man with those cement block feet of his.
If Manny Pacquiao literally made $150m on the Mayweather fight, why is he still fighting Jessie Vargas, as he himself has stated, to get a paycheck to support his family? lol

The only issue is that a "fair percentage" for Golovkin, if folks are honest, is closer to 10% than it is to even 15%. People laugh off Oscar's original 90/10 but, before the Alvarez-Smith PPV only did 300k PPV buys, that was likely a generous offer.

For once I agree with old Bob. 60/40 that. I guess I haven't paid much attention to Canelo, as well...I was surprised with some of the shots Smith was hitting him with later (although he handled them well. I don't think Smith has much power.), but he just sort of doesn't move.

You right but imho Golovkin shouldn't make the error to talk about purse but just focus on making the fight at 160 (and for 2017), even for 10/90 (!) he should take the fight ... at 160, he will be rewarded the rest of his career

Likely in what sense? Apparently not in any real sense, cause as we've seen Canelo can't sell much by himself and has lost a lot of fan appeal since his epic duck.

This is Oscars way of postponing the fight until GGG is showing signs of fading. Sound familiar anyone? Boxing really sucks these days.

interesting the more i think about the more it does seem bs. i still think canelo deserves the lions share tho. even if they only have ggg 35% or so

Have you heard of tax, paying trainers a percentage, paying sparring partners, costs for camp, official costs, the list goes on, floyd made somewhere in the vicinity of 250/300 million. As for canelo hasn't fought above 155, wasn't it him that said in the ring after the khan fight that he'd fight GGG right there and then AT 160, because mexicans dont **** around, I'm sure it was

The Khan PPV, at nearly $70, ended up doing nearly 600k PPV buys; if given an opponent with some name ID, Alvarez can do just fine business. Liam Smith, a fighter with literally almost zero name ID in the US, was still able to be an opponent that Alvarez was likely able to do $20m in PPV revenue with.

With the Golovkin-Lemieux number being what t was, can you point to a single other fight (beyond possibly the coming Daniel Jacobs fight) that K2 can stage for Golovkin that they could take to PPV, let alone do even $10m in PPV revenue with?
