I don't like that Chico only gets brought up in regards to his stellar performance against Castillo. Yes it was an all time great fight or at the least greatest comeback of all time.
Chico, however, should be remembered for more than that 1 night against Castillo. What about his performance over Robert Garcia, stopped him and turned him into a trainer. Or when he tko'd the slick and hard punching Frietas? His lightweight record and knockouts had ranked even higher than Mayweather at one point.
Also who could miss his battles with Joel Casamayor who I feel was his truest rival. Even his beat down at the hands of Floyd Mayweather was great in the sense he refused to quit even after being knocked down 5 times.
Boxing misses Chico and it's cool he's thought and written about often but as boxing fans can we recognize his legacy is more than just Castillo?
