    My impression from GGG-Brook

Finally got around to watch GGG-Brook. And it seems that "GGG was struggling" is greatly exaggerated. People tend to listen more than watch themselves. Paulie says that GGG does not move his head and this is a gospel now. Only God is infallable, while Paulie could be caught up in the conversation and miss some stuff. GGG sees incoming punch and if he can't get out of the way, nods and takes it on the forehead. This is as "old school" as it gets. Which is why Brook was not too eager to throw straight with force after a while, out of fear to hurt his hands. He did throw, but only scoring punches, with not a lot of sting behind. Of course the medicine against it is the uppercut. And Brook quickly realised that, because he is a smart technician himself. But the problem - he was going backwards all the time. His uppercuts were also just scoring punches. It is harder to hurt an oppenent, when you are going backwards and not given an option to plant your feet. All-in-all I would not straight away discount Brook against other less skilled middleweight.

GGG didn't fight a careful fight trying to get hit as little as possible the way he fought Lemieux and the way he will fight Jacobs. He didn't respect Brook's power and tried maybe a little too hard for a quick KO. He hurt Brook badly in the first round. Brook did OK in the 2nd and 3rd rounds but he still got hurt every time GGG landed anything fairly clean. GGG really got to him in the 4th and would have KOed Brook within seconds after the towel was thrown in. It was a sloppy C- performance by GGG and he said so himself. Still he was in complete control and there was never any doubt in my mind he would knock Brook out in the 5th anyway had his trainer not stopped the fight. The big difference was GGG punches so much harder and takes a punch so much better than Brook. That's how I saw the fight anyway. GGG didn't use his great left jab much and he should have used it more. I'm sure he will work behind a stiff accurate left jab when he fights the much more dangerous Jacobs.

If GGG did everything he should have in that fight he wouldn't have jocobs and Saunders now talking about fighting him, he also would have been copping heaps more flac about the fight being a total mismatch, he did as he said he would, a big drama show, he could have finished brook in the 1st round but lifted his foot after he hurt him

Golovkin took too many shots. These will add up over time. You will see it when he wakes up old one day. But he definitely took care of business in this fight, and the outcome was never remotely in doubt.

The fact of the matter is if Brook had any kind of serious power. He might have knocked Golovkin out, the way Golovkin fought. And there's no guarantee that Golovkin could have fought any other way. He's a knock out waiting to happen imo. Someone with equal toughness or power ie. Canelo, can and will heat him.

Jacobs will not, his chin will not hold up. He will get knocked out. I guarantee that.
