Comments Thread For: Yuriorkis Gamboa Ready, Wants a Crack at Jose Pedraza

Olympic gold medal winner and former world champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (25-1, 17KOs) is ready to get back in the world title mix. He's willing to step in and challenge Puerto Rican world champion Jose "Sniper" Pedraza (22-0, 12KOs), who is the reigning International Boxing Federation (IBF) champion at super featherweight.

Yuriorkis Gamboa has been busy attending the Winky Wright School of Boxing Business. Tremendous talent, terrible handlers. It's a shame to see him sitting idle like that.

Let's see it. Gambia is/was an axing fighter in his prime but is he still there? That is the serious question. I don't look much at the lose to Crawford but inactivity can be as dangerous to a fighter as the KO loss at the championship level.

Wise of Padraza he is still ultimately untested against an elite opponent. Gamboa would be exactly that, either help catapult his career or push it back quite a bit.

This guy had the talent to reach the top but his questionable business decisions help turn his career downward. Jumping on board with 50 cent & Floyd was a bad mistake! That entire situation turn bad really fast! 50 cent & Floyd telling the entire world they were taking over the boxing world! 50 cent teasing Oscar on social media about Golden Boy never promoting Floyd again. Floyd going to prison! Floyd & 50 cent having a big fall out. Floyd continued working with Golden Boy! Floyd wanting nothing to do with 50 cent SMS promotional company! Gamboa getting stuck with 50 cent! 50 cent SMS promotion wasting Gamboa away! But Gamboa is much to blame for his own demise. Gamboa should have stayed with Arum but a lot of people wanted him to leave Top Rank & look what happen!

That's a lot of 50 cent mentions, actually 3 dollars and 50 cent worth. I agree he should of never signed with him.

Crazy how fast this sport spins its athletes. Had Gamboa beaten Crawford he'd been a hot commodity and 50cent would still be promoting boxing and they would've royally fkd bob arum in the process. Let's hope old Loud can help Yuri get himself back on track, cat is super talented.
