  • Boxing Needs Fury! Tyson Shouldn't Retire.

Peter Fury says in the video below that he thinks Fury will probably fight again but the fact that it's even a question must mean that Fury has seriously considered leaving boxing and he wasn't just bluffing when previously mentioning retirement.

Love him or hate him, Fury is great for the sport as a polemic character who both entertains and upsets the masses, with a boxing ability and style which could seriously trouble, and maybe even defeat 5 times out of 10, any ATG heavyweight in history.

Most people would consider him the premier heavyweight world champion of the current time due to his victory over Klitschko so it would be a terrible shame if retirement happened when he has just positioned himself to such terrific heights within the sport where he could, over the next 2 years, become an undeniable ATG with potential victories over Klitschko II, Wilder, Joshua, Haye, Browne, Stiverne, Whyte and more.

Should Tyson return to the sport or would you rather he retired and disappeared for good?

think fury will fight again and i hope he does, although im seen as a ggg nuthugger i like fury just as much. In my opinion he beats everyone at heavyweight, as much as i slate him the only person i could see giving him problems is bum squad wilder because as sloppy as he is hes got the power to KO anyone If he lands clean. i sound like a broken record but it must be near on impossible to motivate himself to fight wlad again, makes blood boil the lack of credit he gets from people over here, people see haye beating valuev as a far better win than fury beating klitscko. THink he would be very motivated to fight joshua, because as bad as it sounds he would get a hell of a lot more credit over here for beating an unproven fighter like joshua than he did for beating wlad. And i think he'd school that stiff bodybuilder

If he can't take it seriously anymore and just holds up other fighters and ****ing around then he should just get the **** outta boxing

if he is still able to compete and take it seriously then he should continue, he beat Klitschko afterall...

I don't think boxing NEEDS Fury.

BUT I think boxing is better with Fury. I do not like the guy. I do not like how he talks, I do not like how he fights... BUT for god sake I'm not dumb enough to say he's not a good boxer. He is. He's awkward and gigantic and provides hell for anyone in that division bar Joshua I think. Styles make fights and Fury gives Wilder, Povetkin, Ortiz, Parker HELL. But Joshua goes toe to toe and knocks him out. Before I get called an AJ nuthugger... I think Parker and Ortiz give AJ hell.

Hell I think Parker is going to come out of all the smoke as the #1.

He isn't going to retire he's going to be banned, to avoid an extreme ban for refusing testing he is pretending he is mentally unstable, they have a QC advising them now.

The only question mark will be, how would he fared against Joshua/wilder etc, since he only fought one name in his entire career and he was a 40 year old gunshy old man...

But then again i think he was boring to watch in practically all of his fights, the only redeeming quality was his amusing interviews/antics.

I don't watch boxing for press conferences so i honestly don't really give a schit whether he fights again or not tbh.

Lots of money to make so he will hang around.

I would like to see him retire. He is a weirdo who plays games even if he can fight well when he is in the mood. All this time everyone has eagerly waited for the rematch and thinking it was postponed for legitimate reasons. Now we find out it was just Fury playing head games and lying to put the fight off. That's not fair to Wlad who gave Fury a title shot. It's not fair to boxing and the heavyweight division. If he is mental unfit to fight then do us a favor and retire. He is a jerk outside the ring and isn't fun to watch inside the ring. Don't get me wrong. I am not saying he should be forced to retire. Even clowns and jerks and crazy men have a right to make a living. I do think if he retired of his own free will I would be glad to see him gone. I do believe he should be striped of his title for what he has pulled. Wlad and the highest ranked contender should fight for that title with the winner fighting the 2nd highest contender next.

I think Fury has some legit mental issues/depression/whatever type thing going on & has had whatever that all is going on for some time. He got to his goal in boxing & the world didn't really change like he thought or he just couldn't handle all the extra attention or pressure he's now under idk, but ultimately I think Fury needs to do whatever is best for himself & his family & if that means he needs to retire from boxing for good or maybe just for a year or two fair play to him.

People like to act like boxers should live or die in the ring on sites like this one a lil too often for my tastes. I'm pro more guys retiring sooner rather than later or even taking some needed time off if they have something going on that can impact them in the short or long term. This isn't a sport to compete in if you are halfassing it for whatever reason you are or need to be halfassing it.
