Comments Thread For: Curtis Stevens: Me And Lemieux Should Fight For Shot at Canelo

Curtis Stevens has a blueprint for Canelo Alvarez to fight a hard-hitting, legitimate middleweight May 6. Stevens suggested to BoxingScene.com that he and former IBF middleweight champ David Lemieux should fight early in 2017 for the right to become Alvarez's next opponent. Both boxers have fights scheduled for later in the fall and would need to win those bouts for Stevens' plan to possibly materialize.

Well after Canelo fights Lemieux, he goes back down to 155.

Not sure anyone is interested in either of those guys fighting Canelo and Canelo most likely dominates them as easily as Golovkin did. Only Canelo might not do as much damage.

But then again, Canelo might need one fight at 160 before fighting Golovkin......

There's no way Canelo goes up to 160 to fight Lemieux. It's gonna be a safe choice like Rosado.

Really? Wow, thanks for giving this "casual" a boxing lesson. What do I owe you for that valuable information?

Neither one of these guys deserves a shot they have not beaten anyone recently above them...

honestly i think if canelo is going to fight ggg in september and i think he will i think either one of these guys would be a great fight before ggg. canelo is going to have to fight somebody at 160 before ggg if his first fight at 160 is ggg hes a moron. i think stevens would be a perfect get ready fight for ggg. unless he can land a saunders fight which would be perfect scenario. in a perfect boxing world ggg fights jacobs and canelo fights saunders with the winners of both fighting in september for all the belts
