    Guinn-Dokiwari revisited

Finally watched the whole fight, I kinow it was almost 3 years ago, but where is the Guinn from back then? He looked really good against a big strong fighter with good skills. His chin was grea! Dokiwari might have won if not for the cut, but who knows. Then Dokiwari goes on to lose to a 12-3 nobody a year after that?

Doesn't he own a house or have at least a place to sleep? The term "bum" gets overused when it comes to boxing.

Duncan Dokiwari got the cut in the third round, right?

Guinn performance against Dokiwari was mediocre at best, and in fact he did just enough to win and nothing more. Doki was using the Ruiz hit-and-hold strategy and was wide open for an uppercut which Guinn not only failed to deliver, he never even attempted it. I never could understand all the enthusiasm about Guinn after that fight, perhaps the fans were trying to find a new hero to support in a very pathetic division.

Hasn't Joe Mesi always been more promising than Dominick Guinn?

......perhaps. For most of his career Mesi looked pretty good in the ring. He looked and sounded even better outside the ring and that is why he became a big draw. When Guinn had the kissing and hugging session with Doki, that was the same night that Mesi polished off Williamson in the first round.
