Edwin Rodriguez turned down a fight with GGG in 2012

Was reminded this from a post earlier that claimed GGG conceded weight to Rodriguez at 168:

Out of all of those fights only one got past preliminary talks and had an actual contract draw out, the Rodriguez fight. The contract contradicted their public statements. It's become a pattern...

“I would love to [fight Gennady], his team and promotional company send me a contract to fight at 164lbs and next day they say I have to be 10lbs off. They go on HBO and say they’re big enough to fight anybody from 154 to 168, after I win this tournament I’m open if you want to fight me. My weight is 168lbs, come and get it.”

Rodriguez explained further that not only was he dissatisfied with the terms of the fight, but he also felt frustrated about the situation in its entirety and even took a stab at what a catch weight could suggest about the confidence in Golovkin and his team.

“Don’t send me a contract saying I have to be 10lbs off or come down to a catch weight, I’m a super middleweight and you said you’d fight anyone from 154 to 168 but then you’re fighting guys at light middleweights. If you’re really as good as you say and your team really believes you’re that good then move up and fight me at 168 and stop sending me contracts that aren’t even worth looking at.”

Edwin Rodriguez is preparing to participate in a super middleweight tournament consisting of 4 fighters, beginning March 30th when Rodriguez steps in the ring with Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna. That same night Zolt Erdei will square off against Denis Grachev, with the winners meeting in July. The finalist will compete for a million dollar purse with

    Yes, I remember this.

It's crazy that GGG supposedly beat Kovalev up in sparring, beat all these cruiserweights and heavyweights in sparring, but when it comes to actually making a real fight, they have all these stipulations all of a sudden.

GGG reminds me of that little cousin or little brother back in the day that you let win in "play fighting" and was a beast when you were slap boxing, but when he finally pissed you off and you were ready to kick his little ass all of a sudden he says he's too small

Lil G the A-side, if Rodriguez wanted to make the fight, he should have taken it at 164. Lil G has all the belts, lil G calls the shots. He selling 970k ppvs just shy of 1M with no names Lemiuex. Lil G is big drama show, sponsorships with Jordan, Apple. He's in commercials. Ward ducked him. Moved up 2 weight classes away to run away from lil G to fight a bum in Kovalev. Canelo ducking, moving down to 154 to. He the B-side only sold 300k with a very popular fighter in Liam Smith.

His fans are very sneaky. They'll try to convince you that 150k is a success but 300k is a flop. That GGG selling more tickets than Cotto at MSG with a gate of $2 mil is better than Cotto selling slightly less tickets but a gate of $4mil. That the alleged 500k PPV (source?) in the UK at $18 is better than 300k PPV's in the U.S. at $70. That selling out O2 arena in 11 minutes thru a broker is better than selling 51,000 at Cowboy Stadium to the public. Very sneaky like Tom Loeffler

The quote about gg agreeing to Froch at 168 is incorrect. Hearn said he asked for 170 and they said, not only will it not be at 170, but probably not at 168 either. Gg fans have recently insisted that Hearn is entirely credible so they surely must believe him on this one too.

Some of these guys get favors from K2 from posting. Go take a look at who Tom Loeffler is following on Twitter. It's the same guys on here cheerleading GGG every chance they get. I know for a fact Tom has sent direct messages to at least one guy.
