they never were trying to fight him anytime sooner than september 17 thats what they been saying and thats what the offer is for, and he was gonna fight decemeber 10 if he didnt have a injury. He still had every intention to fight in may lol you think canelo gonna sit out an entire year and fight ggg first with no 160 feelout fight.

Well I'd imagine breaking your thumb is possible even with a glove its highly unlikely but possible to happen perhaps he never landed cleanly and the smallest part of the glove clipped onto something hard and every shot Canelo throws is like power shot.

I see what you're saying but I think that would be more likely to happen if headgears were involved. I just find it very strange.

He had plenty of chances to "feelout" 160 and didn't. It's all been plotted really carefully it seems.

Why would he need to fake an injury when Oscar already said he won't fight GGG until November 2017? I doubt a healthy, uninjured Canelo would sit on the sidelines when he could make many millions fighting almost anybody. A fractured thumb is a common injury in a fight, especially for a hard puncher. Sure, Oscar wants GGG much older and he is stalling but he doesn't need a fake injury to put the GGG fight off. I think Canelo really fractured his thumb. They hardly ever show x rays of fighter's injuries to the public so fans can believe it or not.

yeah but he didnt, and the thumb has no relevancy on when they were gonna fight ggg it was always gonna be September 2017, so thats why it makes no sense to fake a thumb injury to avoid a ggg fight in may lmfao their was never gonna be a ggg fight in may to begin with.

The thumb is not tucked under in a glove, like it is in a bare fist. In gloves, it's awkwardly out to the side and vulnerable to damage if your opponent moves and you catch your thumb against his skull w/ full power.

I can't believe people are even questioning this. It wouldn't have any influence on the Sept 2017 that has been talked about for the past few months anyway. There would be no point in faking an injury right now.
