Doubt it, HBOs about done with boxing and Usyk doesn't bring money.

But is it good to sign a network only deal these days?

On the positive side: dude is good and this brings exposure to a really good division should HBO use his undercards to showcase future competitors

Negative side: crusier isn't popular in the US because the best guys are not American so casual fans likely will not tune in.

hopefully, he doesn't sign a network deal just a one fight deal. I don't want an HBO deal messing up who he can fight.

Do you seriously believe that? Where does HBO say this?

I don't think it really matters. When GGG and Kovalev started fighting on HBO they were getting paid peanuts. Could be the same in Usyk's case.

No I don't think they're really done with boxing but they're taking a big step back.

They already said their budget for the rest of the year is low. So that might be one of the reasons? If they lower their budget next year then you can say they're taking a step back from boxing. But if they were taking a step back this year from boxing then their budget would have plenty of money left cause that would mean they aren't showing as many fights.
