I don't think PPV sales gives an accurate reading of GGG's popularity. GGG will get good ratings on TV and sell out arenas so long as the price is right.
We do not know if he can do what non HWT's Floyd and ODH, did-ie generate the 2 or 3 biggest revenue days of the year in a major city (Las Vegas) while regularly selling over 1 mil ppv's. While I am no GGG fan, I think people need to keep things in perspective.
No one else reached the level of the men above. You have Manny on the next level. You have Tito, Canelo and Cotto way underneath him. Then you have Morales, MAB, JMM. I am sure I am missing someone (non HWT's so I'm not counting Tyson, Foreman, Holyfield)
Roy Jones and Bhop, for example were never huge PPV sellers despite being popular and great.
GGG is popular but that doesn't mean he will be box office.
