I rather watch a GGG fight any day than a Ducknelo fight. GGG/Jacobs is close to being made so who cares what Ducknelo is doing. Most casual fans couldn't give a **** about the politics of boxing. There only interested in a guaranteed knocked out.

If that was the case triple G ppv wouldn't of bombed and only way he can get back on ppv is with Canelo

Golovkin does need to make some thing happen for himself but he has some decent choices available to do it with. As long as he continues to raise his profile Canelo is going to call his name Canelo also needs a big fight and Golovkin is the most highly anticipated opponent out there for him. That fight can easily be sold no matter what their numbers are.

I don't care if he moves up or not. He's 34 years old and is done filling out and is clearly most effective as a MW. However, if GGG wants a big fight he is going to have to make it happen...which is the whole point of the article.

GGG either needs to compromise on fighting weight (157, 168, etc) or he needs to take a big paycut. There's just no reason for an A-side fighters to forfeit every advantage (weight and purse) to a 34 year old with nothing to offer (no PPV's and no casual fan base). GGG has no casual fan base bc he hasn't fought the Cotto, Pac, Floyd, or Canelo...he needs to concede to get one of them or he will retire as a shoulda, coulda, woulda.

lmfao dawson would love that but to be fair to ward dawson ran his mouth and put himself in that situation kinda like with ggg and the 154-168 BS.

Gotta respect dawson cause he wanted the big shot and did what he had to do and lived up to his word, GGG is just all talk and never once have stepped up to the plate, instead blames everyone else as the reason he is medicore resume.

The one thing that people forget when comparing Golovkin to Hagler is that most people rate Leonard and Duran higher than Hagler because they both dared to be great and face people that they weren't expected to beat.

Hagler dominated the best at middleweight but these guys were not hall of famers. His hall of famers came from the lower weight classes and already had names of theirs owns from these classes. He also fought Leonard at 32ish and at the end of his correct me if I'm wrong 13 year career. Golovkin is aleady 34 and has been pro for 10 years.

Jones early record is more impressive then Hopkins against "larger sized" competition "Hopkins, Toney, McCallum and Hill VS Trinidad, de la Hoya, and Johnson" it's not until Hopkins looses to Taylor and catches his second wind that he became transcendal. Tarver, Winky, Pavlik. Not that these guys were better. But just bigger and really good.

Golovkin can be a great fighter staying at middleweight and getting his name off of me, welters and junior middleweights. That's not a problem or not even nothing to frown upon. it's not until the media begins saying "possible greatest middleweight ever" and most feared and other hyperbole does it become a problem. It's the bullying of guys he's expected to beat that becomes distasteful.

The criticisms about him daring to be great are legitamate no matter how much you want to protect his career like your unborn child. It's simple. If he punches too hard for anyone below middle weight. Then the only real challenge is for him to face naturally bigger men(within reason) and see if the results are the same. Is he really that great or is he not.

The biggest mistake GGG's handlers have made, may prove to be not excepting that offer for 2 tune ups and then a Ward fight. Had the offer been accepted (or at least negotiated, and then accepted), we would have been watching Ward vs GGG in November rather then Kovalev. If GGG were to lose that fight, GGG would be perceived as less dangerous, resulting in more fighters taking a chance, namely Canelo. There is also a built in excuse, basically GGG moved up and lost to the bigger man, no harm no foul. If GGG were to win, he would probably be #1 pound for pound, his stock would have hit the stratosphere, thus making big fights unavoidable. No matter where you stand on this topic, you have to admit, this may have been a calculated move that in the end, may prove to be GGG's teams worst decision.
