So making a high end fight is difficult because one investment is going to take a large hit while a competitors gets over. So it is a double edged swords which make people only want to put their guys at risk when chances are good or long term potential no longer outweighs shorts term gain.

Put fighters under one banner that all goes away. Fighters probably make less because there is less competition for their services but these guys still have to get in the ring so the prizes have to be worthwhile or no one will take up the sport.

Monopolies get a bad wrap but they almost always make a business run more efficiently and honestly boxing is run in about the most inefficient way possible currently so boxing cold certainly use some morganization.

well that would certainly explain why all the top PBC guys are always fighting each other.

    Oh, wait.....

Why would anyone want pbc, top rank, golden boy etc to be the only game
in town?? That is bad for the consumer.

Also a monopoly would make it even easier for a cherry picking promoter
to completely freeze out already avoided fighters.

Boxing has plenty of duckin right now. It would only get worse as a
        monopoly.
        If you disagree please explain

Do NFL, MLB and NBA use the same business model as Pro boxing??
        Do they have PPV??

        Yep. Couldn't agree more.
A sucker will always be foolish with his time and money I suppose...

This reminds of the pc master race vs console peasant videos you see on youtube.
PBC is different from the UFC, for the simple fact that the main "decision maker" is coming to the table from the fighter's perspective, rather than solely from the investor's perspective (Dana White's sole aim is to maximize the take for him and the Fertita brothers).

With the fighters at the table when the money is being discussed/negotiated, PBC fighters have access to too much information to end up getting shorted like UFC fighters.

well technically they are. They control the matchups, the purses, the ticket prices, the network platform, the advertising revenue, the event revenue, and they are the ones risking the capital.

Those are all pretty much the functions of a promoter.

PBC doesn't really have control of the game or even close really, they have guys they can match but they still need the volume of talent they have at a high level to accomplish their goals. There is still too much competition for PBC to do that consistently because they will run out of top guys before the competitions is put in the rear view mirror.

Most of the best fights in the US were PBC this year anyway.

Haymon's number 1 fans! Here to tell you about the inner workings of PBC and why it's going to save boxing!
Why do successful and educated black men threaten you so much?

                  • Boxing under one umbrella is good if the top fighters under it are fighting each other. PBC fighters have been built up already. How many more fights do they need before fighting each other?

Monopoly or not, it doesn't matter. It all boils down to making meaningful fights happen.

A bigger cut for the fighter, is also a bigger cut for Haymon.

Dana White was/is all about the UFC brand and pushing that stance, not on his "take" as you mentioned. This same push behind PBC hasn't been going on. It is still favoring specific fighters only.
