GGG would easily KO martinez. mediocre chavez jr almost ko'ed martinez. there is reason why prime martinez ducked guys like ggg.

GGG wins. Considering "prime" martinez was in his 30s and was 1-1 with paul williams and a win over busted kelly pavlik was his biggest accomplishments at 160.

I think prime taylor or winky wright at 160 vs GGG is more interesting.

Martinez wasn't in his prime when he fought Chavez.

Martinez boxed the crap out of Chavez for most of the fight until he got caught late, and that's likely because he started to gas from moving around so much. He was 37 years old trying to avoid a twenty something year old giant.

Chavez could've looked like he had 20 pounds on Martinez.

jk, GGG wins by stoppage, but it would def be his toughest opponent by far. Prime Martinez was the boogeyman in the MW division before GGG. He outboxed a prime Chavez JR if you could even say that, who outweighed him on fight night by a good 20 pounds.
