Would Mayweather still take the "W" or has Canelo blossomed enough to warrant another fight if Mayweather returned? It's gotta be the biggest money fight available.
If Canelo and Mayweather had a rematch in May would it be different?

Right now Mayweather at 40 would get killed by Canelo or Golovkin, and I'm probably the biggest Mayweather fan -
Canelo has changed quite a bit since that fight. It was a real learning experience and he never sits back and lets fights get away from him anymore. He's got a real sense of pushing the action when needed.
That said, Mayweather might still take the decision. But, no way does Canelo still gameplan and execute plans like he used to back then.Last edited by Redd Foxx; 09-18-2016, 04:22 AM.Comment

No it wouldn't, even if it was at 154 because the only way Canelo beats Mayweather is if Mayweather deteriorates physically. He won't, he is too good an athlete for that...until he is about 45.
Khan showed what speed, movement and mid-range punching can do. It took Canelo almost 4 rounds to start landing the types of shots he was landing on Smith in the first round. That tells you just how good Khan is, just how limited Smith is and how capable Canelo is.
Mayweather is better than all those names mentioned.Comment

Mayweather is a great fighter, no doubt. He is 3 years older and Canelo is much better now. I think Canelo is the best 154 pounder in the world and the 2nd best middleweight in the world. As long as the fight was at the full 154 pounds I would bet on Canelo to win if they fought now.Comment
