You can't leave that kind of money on the table. Especially in this fight where the PPV upside is so big. People are calling it the biggest fight that can be made in boxing. You need to capitalize on that and take at least a piece of that PPV because Golovkin is contributing to that.

Why would he accept 2 million? 2 million in this inflated economy is nothing in 2016. He stands to gain nothing by beating Canelo other then money because it will sell lots of PPV's because of the both of them collectively. Not because Canelo is headlining the event.

Why wouldn't Canelo wanna fight the guy who holds all the belts at 160, is a P4P rated fighter and undefeated to boost? That is the question. There are incentive for Canelo beyond just the money here. There are ZERO incentives for GGG to beat a smaller Canelo other than a big, fat paycheck that is proportionate to his contribution in PPV sales. THE FIGHT itself would sell, not Canelo by himself.

The premise that GGG should take a small 2 million flat fee because he stands to gain more fame and make more money in the future is shere ******ity. This is a Super-Fight. There are only a few super-fights out there, this being one of them. Even if he becomes a bigger name after beating Canelo, he won't be making anymore money than Sugar Shane Mosley made after he defeated Delahoya. Or Hopkins made after he defeated Delahoya. They might have gotten a slight up uptick in pay afterwards, but nothing major.

De La Hoya just said a month ago he made an 8 figure offer to GGG and they're waiting on an answer. Said the offer was 2,3,4 times as much as he ever made! BOOM!

GGG is punchy if he thinks he gets 50 50.

Canelo could sell more than 97k PPV's shadow boxing.

How much clearer do you want the man to be? He thinks Canelo's claims are a joke and they can get that work anytime. Don't turn into another dunce, we have plenty of those already.
