  • Comments Thread For: Sanchez: Golovkin Was Never Wobbled, We Were Never Worried

According to Abel Sanchez, head trainer of IBF/IBO/WBC/WBA middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs), they were never worried during last Saturday's fight with IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-1, 25KOs).

There was a dude on here posting youtube videos of GGG taking a step back in 1000x slo-mo trying to prove he was hurt.

The amount of fear because of a strong asian man is unreal.

GGG is not invisible. Hes gonna take shots. But he is a warrior too...hes gonna give shots back too. Thats what matters. So what he took shots. The best man won.

I was a bit worried for him in the 2nd. Literally said, "You gotta be kidding me. You're gonna get beat by Kell fking Brook?"
Thankfully, Golovkin weathered the storm. Not going to pretend he wasn't in trouble for a minute there though.

A bit better combination puncher could've gotten a stoppage in the second. This is why GayLoveKin doesn't fight anyone like that. Brook didn't follow up enough, or the eye was already damaged, but no ref is going to let a guy take punch after punch in combination like I thought brook might have done. At the end of the day, whether he wants to admit it or not, GayLoveKin was exposed by a WW that had the eye not been damaged, might have done much better.

He didn't look hurt at any point - but he was knocked off balance a couple times. Brook was no threat, that's why Gennady didn't really box him, he just walked him down, basically. There's not much to take from this fight and it doesn't give any indications whatsoever how his next fight is going to be like.

I've never seen GGG wobbled or hurt. We are yet to see GGG truely tested. He is a once in a generation fighter and most people are enjoying the show. Age is the only thing that will get the better of him and that will be some years off. I personally think his next fight he will absolutely step up another gear and destroy his next opponent.

Yep he was tagged good slightly moved by it....but he was never once in trouble ....trouble is when your legs go one way and your body go's the other way...triple GGG took those shots and was asking for more......brook landed some really good times shots that would have put any welterweight on the floor .....but he's not a middleweight period
