How exactly does Box Rec comprise their pound for pound list?

no way. Its all for marketing now a days. I remember when Ring really was a true unbiased ranking. DLH and GB did that in. Now its shlt.

Boxrec divisional rankings are pretty solid IMO,, they may have the occasional head scratcher but usually pretty solid

Click on the bit where it says 'Read a full explanation of the ratings'. It does just that. It's a tedious explanation of the exact algorithms they use, and to be fair you can tell they've made a spirited effort to get it right, however a PTS based system is never gonna work. Boxrec should only ever be used for reference purposes, although the divisional ratings can give you a very rough and ready estimate of a fighters ability and experience if it's someone you don't know.
