that is actually very coommon. some of my cousins don't speak spanish yet understand every word their parents say who came from mexico. sure they can say some words but not a correct sentence. Just like I am sure Canelo can say some stuff but doesn't want it to come out wrong. Same thing with Chavez Jr, Wilfredo Vazquez Jr etc
