Canelo and GGG are naturally the same size, just like Kovalev and Ward are naturally the same size. According to Ward's own trainer, Ward naturally weighs 30 pounds more than GGG, equivalent to four weight classes bigger before you get to cruiserweight/heavyweight. Even when he was fighting at 168, Virgil has said he was a "scaled down light heavyweight" which explains why he fought at I think 178 in the Olympics.

So don't try to create false equivalences just to defend Canelo. Canelo and GGG walk around the same weight, in fact Canelo is heavier. Ward walks around 30 pounds heavier. That's why the correct matchups to make were always Kovalev-Ward, GGG-Canelo, and that would have happened, everyone held up their end of the bargain, except one dude, Canelo. In the end even Ward showed more courage than him. Canelo was the only one who ducked. The only one.

Also it's interesting that even when Ward was still pretending he could make 168 in order to keep his name relevant by using GGG's in the press, he wanted GGG to fight him in his first fight at 168, even though to fight Kovalev at 175, Ward's natural weight class, Ward wanted three tuneups first. That shows the double standard against GGG but this is a little complicated for many fans to understand so let's just stick to the basics. Canelo ducked someone his own size. GGG has never ducked anyone. You can't duck someone 30 pounds heavier than you who can't even make 168, and who never offers to fight you except fake offers after you've already signed to fight someone else. Plus if Ward was serious about fighting GGG he would have offered to fight him at 160, the way GGG offered to go down to 154 to fight Floyd. That shows GGGs commitment to fighting the best, but Ward isn't committed to that degree, he only wants to fight everyone on his own terms.

Yeah yeah, we'll see what Smith brings. As I said, I doubt he wins but I see a tricky night for you ginger friend.

You would've had a great argument if someone wasn't talking about "anyone from 154 to 168." You would've had an even better argument if someone didn't say they would fight 2 guys the same size as Ward (Froch & Chavez Jr.) @ 168, but Ward only @ 164! Lastly, you would've been spot on if Roc Nation's offer would've forced GGG to drop the Lemieux fight, but it didn't! GGG was to fight Lemieux, Ward was going to fight a tune-up, and the fight was to take place in early 2016! So again, I wouldn't say GGG "ducked" Ward, but his promoters made a "business decision" and there decision was to fight Canelo or Cotto, who fought @ 155, instead of Andre Ward @ 168! Smart decision on K2's part, because we know Ward would've broken GGG @ 168! Like I said, promoters do this all the time!
