it's funny how all of the middleweights are now coming out dying to fight golovkin. it just shows what state our sport is in. you need a welterweight to exposed the flaws of golovkin for you to man up?

    crazy......

I'm sure Jacobs and GGG could pull off a fight late November neither really got much damage to deal with and I'm sure both could get right back into gym straight away.

Here's hoping we can get that fight then the winner fighting Saunders middleweight division needs it so badly.

If Sky Sports is akin to ESPN stateside, my guess is that BoxNation may be more akin to FS2. What type of PPV number would you honestly expect from a fight that was only promoted on FS2, compared to one that got pub from ESPN?
Thought you would read up more on this as I just gave you the tit-bit.. Its one on-Demand Sky channel & you can subscribe for BN Box-Office or Sky Box Office fights too..

              I get that.

I'm simply making the point that Sky Sports isn't going to go out of it's way to promote an event that they don't have any actual stake in.

BoxNation is putting on the PPV, on their own Box Office platform, so it would be a sensible question to ask what the actual broadcast reach of BoxNation.

The United Kingdom is home to almost 65m people.

With over 25m homes with a TV, I doubt that BoxNation is available in 1m homes (if I'm mistaken, the correct information would be appreciated); Sky Sports, if my guess is correct, is available in 17m homes in the UK.

If the fight is being marketed to 1/17th of the audience, how you expect a massive PPV number is beyond me.

I think BN subscribers are ~1m but Sky Box Office is subscribed by over 12m I recon & any fight on that is on-demand so potentially speaking there could be 12m people who can buy.. As to how much will actually buy - that remains to be seen..
With Golovkin fighting in the UK he has got their attention to a certain extent.. They need to go through great lengths to sell the fight, but if we can decent press and promotions that should do it to cover each man's purse..

Oh it doesn't have to do massive PPV sales & let's face it, it won't.. If it does 300-400k sales i.e., 3.5-5m GBP which is might good for this fight apart from the guaranteed purses.. They have got to stack the undercard with good fights. May be get Liam & Paul Smith, Vijender Singh & few more from the stable on the undercard..

With only an audience of 1m homes to market to, you're overestimating the number of Sky subscribers who would even know a fight was happening

They are saying its a Sky's on demand channel, so I recon the reach would be more.. UK fans are gullible, they buy ppv stuff super easily.. Tony Bellew did his own PPV.. They back their guys against all odds..

Tony Bellew had Sky Sports rolling out the red carpet, to treat his fight as an epic showdown in the lead-up.

Gullible or not, BoxNation won't ever be able to get anywhere near that type of energy behind pushing any of their PPV events.

Simply compare the energy that's going to be put behind promoting Kovalev-Ward on HBO, to energy that's going to be put behind Pacquiao-Vargas on Top Rank PPV.
