Here's why
1. HBO have reduced their budget and seem unwilling to spend much at all. They offer didn't enough make Lem-Stevens. They still owe Lem a fight this year but if they can't afford Stevens you wonder who they could get that would be good/known enough. Rather than having to spend on a Canelo fight + a Lem fight they can just combine into one. Cheaper, takes care of the date they owe Lem.
2. BJS will play hardball yet again and ask for more money than he is worth. The Dec fight isn't even on PPV, sure they could stll pay him well but he'll want a silly amount. Monroe will beat Rosado eliminating that option. Monroe himself won't get picked as Lem is GBP and he isn't.
3. Oscar wants Canelo's December fight in New York, which would suit Lem's moosefucker Canadian fans and help draw a good gate.
