    Lets tall canelo smith!!

There's 0 buzz here for this fight. I have to be honest I've never seen Smith fight before. Anyone know if he solid enough to go 12 with canelo? I seriously think canelo power is overrated but I'm not sure how good Smith chin and defense is.

I doubt Smith will get the decision even if it goes 12 so is the only way he can win is by ko or corner stoppage. Is that even possible for a guy like Smith? Is he aggressive enough to make canelo cor we think he's in trouble enough that they need to throw the towel. Someone enlighten me.

It's hard to know how good Smith is really because he hasn't fought at this level. The best thing you can probably say about him is that he's beaten who he's supposed to beat. I wouldn't completely dismiss him as no good because he hasn't fought anybody because everyone has been in his position once, nobody starts at the top. But from where he's fought to fighting Canelo is a hell of a leap.

In terms of style, Smith has got a really good variety of punches and seems to have good power. Like Canelo, he's not much of a mover. I wouldn't say their styles are massively different except i'd say Canelo leans towards being a boxer more, and Smith more of a fighter, but not a big difference in styles at all.

That said, i'm not sure there's anything Smith does that is better than Canelo. If Smith is much better than people realise, which is possible, then their styles could make a hell of a fight but most probably think Smith is just not on that level, which is most likely the truth.

Still, who knows, nobody really knows Smith so he hasn't got anything to lose and maybe he is better than his status suggests.

I'm looking forward to it because Canelo is fun to watch and Smith looks promising. Too bad this fight is dead on arrival. Oscar should have put Liam on a Canelo undercard or something to that extent before trying to sell this as a PPV. I fear a big flop ahead.

I've rarely seen Smith fight, mostly a few highlights here and there, but I have heard really good things about Smith's trainer (Gallagher) being very cerebral and coming up with excellent game plans.

For the most part, Smith is an unknown. We could be in for a shock.. but I highly doubt it. Vegas odds on this fight are worse than Brook's. My prediction is a 117-111 win for Canelo.

Gallagher is a very good trainer and straight talker, sometimes rubs people the wrong way because he speaks his mind. Ring magazine trainer of the year last year too. He seems very confident Smith has the tools to beat Canelo. But he's not really going to say anything else is he? - It was funny in the first press conference though when he said Canelo should have taken the GGG fight, lost and get paid well because they have made a huge mistake fighting Smith for less money because they will lose that too. Oscars face was a picture.

But realistically you would have to assume Canelo has too much for Smith. Smith can show if he's a player at 154 even if he loses and puts in a good performance though. It's a good opportunity for him.
