Let's be clear, I am not a Golovkin hater. I like to see him fight. What I don't like is the Team Golovkin position that the fight must be on his terms or no fight. He has every right to take the position, but we all know concessions must be made to make big fights. We know they want the fight, what we don't know is what concessions they are willing to make. We are now in the same position we would have been in had the WBC ruled Alvarez couldn't win the belt, or if Alvarez vacated the next day. So he said he would fight you at 160, but now won't...okay now what? Spend the next year talking about a guy who basically said f you. I really wish that K2 would unhinge Trips career from Alvarez. It's a big money fight, but not the only way he can become a star.
