He's in my top 3 as far as favorite boxers. If he fights Molina next I won't make excuses that's a sh.it fight. Still think he fights Thurman in the first half of 2017 which will be sweet and at the end of the day he might look vulnerable and not have the best skill set but all that dude does is win

Since Salka his run of Peterson, Paulie & Guererro isn't that bad better then most top tier fighters last 3 fights

I heard someone say this and I agree with it. Danny earned his the hard way coming up always winning even when he was the underdog and until his next big fight ( Thurman ) his team is going to put him in fights that he's the favorite

Look at Canelo the only fighter around his age with his resume with the exception of Mayweather Canelos whole career he's been given every advantage there is. If the guy isn't past his due date, small or inactive he has the judges to lean back on. Danny wasn't given that luxury

I don't have a problem if he's all about making the most in his career and trying to extend as long as he can. Hes already cleaned out his division now it's about him carefully navigating his career and try to make the most of it
I agree he did earn his the hard way and that's another thing. These fighters are old as hell and aint accomplished shit! The get a couple wins and think they're Money May but forget that before he was Money May he was Pretty Boy Floyd. I don't rate that Peterson win to high. It was outside his best weight and wasn't the Peterson that Khan and Matthysse fought and Peterson blew that fight by running the first half of the fight. After Matthysse, Danny was on the cusp of greatness. Maybe he saw what requires greatness and he didn't want any part of it. Since Floyd retired I watch these fighters who are supposed to take his spot and I don't know if they can handle that spot. Fury has already flamed out. Canelo can't take the pressure and has allowed his fights to be taken over with talk of GGG. Floyd never allowed his fights to be dominated with talk of Pacquiao. GGG just can't cross over and his team is amateur hour. Ward is to emotional about what's written about him. To take that spot you have to be mentally strong outside the ring. I don't know if these guys got it.

Danny Garcia is a boxing under dog he wasn't supposed to be here and that's why a lot of people don't like him. When he fought Erik Morales the first time it was a pretty even fight going in some thought Morales had to much experience and others thought Garcia would be to fresh for Morales. It was a tough close fight after 10 rounds but Danny dug deep and scored a big KD in the 11th to seal the fight. Danny didn't look great in that fight but he got the job done. After Peterson got busted Khan was looking for an opponent to unify his WBA title with and they picked Garcia they probably thought it would be an easy win but swift shocked them getting the 4th round KO. Khan at that time had a very big loyal fanbase so that was a fanbase that definetly had deep disdain for swift including the Mexicans who were upset that Danny beat an old legend in morales. Danny had a lot of haters after that and it really made me become a bigger fan of his after that.
After the khan fight is when the hate reached a new level. Garcia rematched Morales and that's when the cherry picking allegations would begin even though Morales had a rematch clause that Danny had to honor. Danny would KO morales in 4. Adding salt to the wounds of Mexican fans that were still upset that Danny had beaten morales the first time. At this same time is when Matthysse started to emerge a big KO puncher who is a fan favorite for many boxing fans. People wanted to see Maythysee fight Garcia next but after Garcia was set to fight Judah that's when the Garcia hate was at an all time level. Most believed Danny would never fight Matthysse. Danny fought Judah in April and after dominating the first 8 rounds had to survive a late onslaught from Judah. This really helped to push the agenda that Danny would never fight Matthysse and that he had no chance against him. Matthysse would go on to KO Peterson in 3 rounds adding to the hype of Matthysse and with Danny there to watch the ringside the boxing world had come to the conclusion that Garcia would never fight Matthysee and if he did would be KOd very early and easily. After some speculation that Danny would duck, the fight became official and was set for September 13th on the Canelo-Mayweather undercard. Most thought Danny had no chance but he would prove the doubters wrong and have the best performance of his career dropping Matthysse in the 11th and winning the decision. As you can imagine the hate for Garcia would rise to unseen levels.
Since this time Danny has certainly not given the fans any reason to like him. The close fights with Herrera and Peterson that a lot of boxing fans felt he lost, the Salka fight, and his recent opposition at 147 with Malignaggi,Guerrero, and now probably Molina.
I'm definetly not happy with his recent opposition but as a Garcia fan I'm not jumping off the bandwagon. I'm still a fan because just when you count swift out is when he'll come in and win a fight he shouldn't. As long as Thurman is next I don't really care if he fights Berto or Molina in October.
I can respect for hanging in there with him. I didn't mind Danny but respect his skills. I did admire him as an underdog but his annoying ass father held me back from being a true fan. After he beat Lucas I knew he was the real deal and have been EXTREMELY disappointed with him since. He was suppose to go on to bigger and better things but hasn't fought a great opponent since. It's been really disappointing. Surely Huerrera, Peterson, and Guerrero are far from gimme fights but you would have thought he could of fought Manny, Pac, Bradley, Thurman, and Porter by now and really tried to make his legacy something.

That's cool but you're bringing up the past. I was a big fan of his during that time too. I do care that he's fighting Molina next because given his recent history he won't fight Thurman next. I'm not gonna settle for weak fights in hopes of a better fight next. We just finished the era of Floyd. IDGAF what nobody says about his resume being cherry picked. I dare anybody to put Floyd's last thirteen consecutive fights side by side with any other fighter in history thirteen consecutive fights and let's compare. Floyd didn't fight the Molina's of the world. That's what I talk about when I talk about wanting to be great. Danny doesn't want to be great.

          He's being protected at WW.

Look at the fighters he's fought. Feather fisted Paulie, Robert Guerrero and now John Molina. Who's he going to fight next, Brandon Rios? He's fighting bad fighters.

Maybe he doesn't want to be great not everybody is Hopkins or Pacquiao or Mayweather. He's a good fighter with a good resume but his recent opposition is definetly not worthy of a top fighter. I hope you are wrong and the Thurman fight happens next year.

I'm a fan and yes his opp has been pretty crappy lately.

Ever since the Matthysse fight he's been taking easy fights, don't blame him though, he gets paid millions to fight these bums and that's a problem.

I think Garcia is holding out for a final big money fight before he retires, he's taking these gimmie fights so he won't take much wear and tear before getting in there with a Thurman or Spence.

As a fan do you get frustrated you don't get to talk about your favorite fighter? You know how fans make threads and videos about their fav fighter's upcoming fight. Or breaking down their last fight. As a Garcia fan it's gotta kill you that the only time you get to talk about his is in threads like these. Even during his build up to fight Monlina nobody is going to make threads breaking down the fight. All the threads will be about how shitty of a fight it is because it is a shitty fight. This is a serious question. I'm not trying to be an ******

Khan and Matthyse fans were butthurt.
Trust me, mexicans werent angry that he beat old shot Morales, most of them were laughing he got taken to the wire against him in the first fight.
What they were probably mad at is that he robbed Herrera.

Mexicans would retire his ass if they gave a **** about him. Just put him against Gomez.
