EXACTLY. If he wins on sat he will have beaten Ring's current number 1, 3, 6, and 8 top ranked Jr Middleweights in the world. So much for he is not fighting top fighters crap. He's 26 and already fought more world champs then most fighters face in their entire career. You got guys his age who are still called prospects and haven't yet faced a single top 10 ranked fighter. If he can still make weight then this is where he belongs. He fought 1 lb over in non 154 title fights. Big different then moving up to 160 to a new division something many fighters like GGG at age 35 refuse to do.

Lara doesn't count because Canelo fought Lara at middleweight where Lara was not even ranked and therefore not a Worldchampion. Counting Cotto is fare because Cotto was stripped due to money just days before the fight. Other then that, Canelo has won nothing but vacant titles. It would be a long list of fighters who have faced more than 3 world champions.

Lara was on the top of EVERYBODY's top 154 rankings at the time they fought but didn't have a "real" belt. He had a jr belt (interim champ) at the time but who cares if that jr belt was officially on the line or not? Since it wasn't on the line he kept his "belt" despite losing to Canelo and was later upgraded to full champ after the fact. Point is Canelo if he wins on Sat will have beaten 4 of the top fighters today at 154 (Ring's current #1, 3, 6, 8) there is no room to complain about his level of competition against Jr Middleweights. He's fought all the top guys. Only thing you can possible complain about is should he move up to conquer 160. His competition at 154 is hard to critique. He's fought and beat more top Jr Middleweights then any of the current Jr Middleweights.

as long as he faces the top guys,andrade and one of the charlo brothers,all this he has to move up is kind of ridiculous,like he said many boxers have stayed at one division for a long time and they did good,like I said as long as he faces the top guys,no problem,i think he'll go to 160 in 2018

Except he didn't stay at one weight and instead threw his belt into the bin and run down to a lower weight.
