Huge props to Choco if he pursues the rematch. This was a great, competitive fight. Hopefully, it happens. This does make me wonder if the Estrada fight is ever going to happen though. That should have happened before this Cuadras fight... Either way, I can't complain about him going up and taking on a top opponent at the next division and then rematching him after a very competitive fight. That separates a champion from a mere titleholder. Good stuff...

3 away from the magical 49 ....great fighter considering he's moved up several weights already and bare in mind it's like going up 15lbs in weight if your a welterweight to middleweight as these guys are so tiny and every 1lb matters

If Gonzalez paces himself better, I think he beats Cuadras much more convincingly. Now he knows he can't overwhelm and exhaust Cuadras. He was definitely trying to with his early onslaught.

Surprised there wasn't a rematch clause for Cuadras since he was the champ and we know Gonzalez doesn't like to give rematches in close fights.

Thats not who he is. He is a guy who is constantly on top of you. Besides i think the adjustments should be more on Cuadras's side. Maybe he has to engage in more of a toe to toe battle with Gonzalez but that might be a huge mistake. Thats why i have Gonzalez in a rematch with the same or better outcome.

He did come out very aggressively in the first few rounds. Running at Cuadras, throwing tons of punches, really expending energy. Obviously he will always be the aggressor in this fight, but he can ease off the gas a little and still win the early rounds, then ramp it up later. He almost lost the first fight because he exhausted himself.

Nah he normally starts a lot slower than that and ramps up the pressure as the fight goes on. He often loses the first round or two for example. This time he came flying out. Maybe trying to excite the fans as he was main event for the first time.

He succeeded but maybe not in the way he wanted
