I don't disagree with any of this, other than possibly the tiger woods thing. I guess I'm in the minority of not being a fan of fighters just cuz i can identity with them. Maybe it's because I've participated in the sport, or maybe it's because there haven't been many good white fighters in my generation. I just find the undercover racial banter on here to be tiresome...I'd hate to admit it, but the pact@rds ruined pac for me. I honestly became less of a fan because of the ignorance of some of his fans.People relate to those who look like them. Boxing is a sport where you don't root for team colors so you root for your color. The same can be said for other individual sports. Maria Sharapova got more endorsements than Serena Williams not because she was the better player. But the sponsors used her to sell their products to people who look like her. Tiger Woods made it clear from day one that he didn't identify as Black. He wanted to make sure he could be used to sell products to people who didn't look like him. If he identified as Black, Phil Mickelson would've been the highest paid player on the tour.Comment

Depends, I think white people are more open to cheering for people different from them. Of course you have your ******s who are racist, but they are across all cultures and colors of people.
White fighters always get discredited for eras they fought in and we pretend that black fighters would have just dominated with no real evidence to say so. So racism is at play in that analysis too.Comment

I wouldn't say that most of the best have been black...more like most of the best have been non-white. There has definitely been a lack of top white fighters in the modern era. Most of the best fighters have been black all along. The worst fighters have been white. (How many white fighters would you rank in the top 10 all time in any weight class? Very few.)
I don't think anyone has a problem with "non-black" fighters being ranked highly -- but you gotta question any white guy getting ranked highly unless he's proven it.Comment

Disagree with this 100%Lets actually be real here for a second...historically (20th Century onwards) boxing has been an AMERICAN sport and AMERICAS best athletes have been primarily BLACK (due to selective breeding for powerful/strong attributes amongst the black population in America ironically thanks to the slave trade). This doesn't speak for the rest of the world.
There's been some all time great White fighters throughout history and if Black Americans actually have some kind of superiority complex because they dominate American sports, then that's ****ing hilarious.
The reason black fighters are more prevalent is because sports being a way out of poverty is generally something for those of a lower status. When the Irish were poor in America they had more boxers. When the Polish and the Germans were poor they had more fighters.
The plight of the black community contributes to the lack of education and means of getting out of poverty and most of representation they have is sports.Comment

Racism is gonna rear its ugly head because certain people benefit from it. POC ( People Of Color ) don't benefit from it other than to play victim. Which never helps in the long run, so whats exactly the issue? Blacks have been great at sports because of centuries of selective breeding. It's not really our fault, on top of that, its usually because of how much poor people or people love the sport stick to it out of passion and desire.
Many people who aren't black in boxing that are talented get love from their respected race as well as the general public if they are good enough. On top of that, guys can be avg and still get love. Not for nothing tho, black athletes are so vast in abundance that we don't flinch at another one fizzling out of nowhere until they do something immaculate like Odell and a one handed catch or Mike Tyson knocking people out.Comment

The hatred and projection in this post is obviously showing signs of hidden feelings that needed to burst out some day. What you say is false, and actually all races have nationalistic fans, but the most racist one's are obvious and they are us (latinos) and the whites. Black fans can easily counter what you said with the fact that boxing was predominantly a white sport (***ish, italian, irish) for the poor white people and now you are jealous because ever since poor blacks and latinos took over they had more ATG's in a shorter period of time, and latinos jealous because blacks have more ATG's than them. But they shouldn't be jealous because blacks have been boxing for longer than us
This is my take as a neutral fan who is not American, white, or blackComment

Motherfuckers are just sensitive and thats the issue.
Black people root for their own, just like ricans do, just like mexicans do etc etc
Now im gonna use me A Mexican as an example.
here the part that muddy things up for idiots, Say a fight taking place a White vs A Black, now cause I'm Mexican and Im rooting for the White fighter the cry babies blacks (not all of them are but their is some and their louder than the non cry baby blacks) will call me racist saying im only going against the black figther cause Im a racist mexican who hate backs and blah blah blah, but here the thing if I was rooting for the black fighter the cry baby whites will say its only cause I hate white people and this and that blah blah.
I am literally the only poster here who changes his name and avatar and sig every fight week to rep for the fighters im going for, I have repped for Berto, Rios, Rosado, Nonito, Canelo, Kovalev, Porter, Jrock, Froch, etc etc and every single time the rival fan boys have called said racism is the only reason im rooting against their guy lmfao.
Dont pay attention to the cry babies their pathetic and have no life.
and in real life, their is no racism its $$$$ motivating everything, if it bigs up their race great but if it isnt who care its about the $$$$$$$$Comment

So does Michael Jordan not identify as black.People relate to those who look like them. Boxing is a sport where you don't root for team colors so you root for your color.
