Its an insult to compare Tyson to Gennady but I CAN UNDERSTAND where you're coming from... Golovkin is WAY SUPERIOR plus he is disciplined and not a crackhead. P4P Golovkin hits harder. If they fought in their primes at a catchweight of 175, Gennady would demolish Tyson easily. He is like Tyson in the sense he is the terror of boxing, but Gennady is the MOST FEARED and MOST powerful fighter in boxing history, EASILY.

He definitely has an aura of destructibility and fear around him that's really reminiscent of Tyson. It's not very often you see a fighter that genuinely strikes fear in the rest of the sport like Golovkin.

I disagree,Tyson in his prime was hard to hit and had the speed of a middleweight..I do think he is overrated by boxing fans in the sense his resume is not all that and when he faced great opposition he came up short..We have yet to see GGG up against hall of fame comp...and yet Tyson did lose to a c class fighter in Douglass

Tyson had speed. that's true. which attributed to his elusiveness.

However, Tyson lacked Stamina which GGG has.


so that's a wash of physical attributes.


In terms of skills, Tyson can be pushed back and he can't fight moving backwards. GGG can.


GGG also has different looks in his offensive arsenal. He can shoot a jab and boxer/puncher style. Or he can shoot a jab and just counter-punch for half a fight like vs DL. Or he can swarm |Marcos Maidana style(Brook).


Tyson is exclusively swarmer.
