Loeffler has stated on many occasions that he has a good relationship with Haymon and has worked with him plenty of times. He said the Wade fight was easy to make. Loeffler talked to Haymon about Jacobs a couple months ago. They both pretty much knew this fight was coming sooner rather than later. I think the fight will get made. This isn't like the Canelo situation. Jacobs will never recover from ducking his mandatory. The only thing keeping him relevant now is people viewing him as the only MW with a shot to beat GGG. GGG will never recover from dropping the belt because his thing is all the belts. If he dropped the belt he's not getting that Canelo fight. He'd be doing the exact same thing Canelo did. Fight a welterweight and drop a belt. I'm very confident this fight will get made.
