He hit Kell with a fercious body shot and buckled him with a left hook. then mysteriously shelled up for the rest of the round.

Why didn't he bumrush Kell when he really did hurt him? Because he was out of gas? impossible, first round. Because Kell was firing back? Nope not for a good minute. It' sbecause GGG was sandbagging.
He very well could've been, I just like to be a little more objective than most in here. Perception is reality for individuals but you have to be careful sometimes how you express that very individual interpretation of the situation.

On another note, I hope it was the case that he just threw caution to the wind to look for the KO. That might trick other fighter into fighting him, you know, the ones that "don't fok around".

Good post, and I'm in same boat with the bolded.

Going into the fight, thought Brook would have his moments and keep it competitive for 6 or so rounds, with GGG eventually wearing him out and stopping Brook come around the 8th or 9th.

        Welp....

I think Brook in his best moments last night would have had to sustain it to perfection for him to have a shot. It's like a QB in the NFL facing an elite pass rush defense. You have a clock in your head, and if the ball isn't out of your hands within that time frame, you are getting blasted.

I've been critical of Golovkin on here at times, more so his fan club really, but never about his power or the ability to cut off the ring. He hit's like a fucking Mack truck. It isn't so much Julian Jackson highlight reel, knock you dead power. It's heavy handed, bone crushing, concussive power that shakes fighters and hurts you no matter where the shots land.

Golovkin looked a little off last night at times, but he still broke Brook's face, and his corner threw in the towel.

I still see nobody at '60 or thinking about moving up to MW beating him.

Think Brook fairs pretty well at '54.

Entertaining fight while it lasted, and props to Brook for sacking up and taking the challenge.

I hope the injury doesn't slow Brook down. He showed a lot of potential.
