Maidana chased a rematch for years and Khan turned him down to fight much lesser fighters. Yes, Khan won the fight but with a better referee he probably would have been KOed. Khan was very relieved when the final bell ran. Maidana improved after their but Khan never improved.

was khans best win, but maidana under garcia would have knocked him out, no doubt about it. Usually think the effect of a trainer on an estabilished fighter is exaggerated, but chino was a lot better with him

Idk, Khan was the one who always begged for the Mayweather fight, and yet it was Chino who got two of them.

Khan going to town on him I thought Maidana said he was retired anyway.
              Let's have the Garcia rematch.

Is that why he fought him the first time when not many people wanted to fight Maidana?
He took the boogeyman fight which people wanted to see him take because we (including me at the time) wanted to see the guy sparked out but he came out victorious and he put on an instant classic.

Don't agree the version Khan fought was just as good.
Khan was utilizing his movement very well and picking him off with rangey combos and he only really started to struggle when he (Khan) started to tire.

Nah the Maidana that fought Khan/Ortiz/Alexander was very raw, got gassed and didn't know what the word jab meant.
