This. All of the above mentioned guys were already shoe ins for the HOF, had multiple great wins under their belt and had proven themselves at the most elite level in the entire history of boxing.

GGG has done, well, none of that. It's obvious he's good, but to compare him to and this fight to those is, quite frankly, an absurd embarrassment.

I would compare them in upset caliber, the Vlad-Fury, should this happen. I don't see how Brook wins though. He doesn't really have anyting on Gennady (speed?). Fury had the actual size and reach advantage over Vlad and utilized it, most importantly.

It would be an incredible win.

Jumping two divisions without a single 'test the waters' fight to beat the undefeated MW 'wrecking ball'...it's highly unlikely, he's a heavy underdog and it would be the best win a fighter has had in many years.

He pulls this off, he is fighter of the year.

We saw what happened with Fury after beating Klitschko. The very same people who said he didn't have a snowballs chance in hell, said Klitschko was old and done after the fight.

So how legendary would this be?
I didn't vote cos you didn't have my option. It's a very good win, almost great. Brook would be a genuine p4p no. 1, especially if he looks good doing it.

In terms of its status as an upset its well up there.

The weight jump combined with the face Brook is not that proven, and doesnt appear to have any chance at all to win, would put it up there with the biggest upsets ever.

I agree. When people keep going on about GGG and brook not being comparable to hagler and srl they are going off on a tangent.
Fact is these are high profile fighters on same level profile wise superstars of now, of today.
It would be biggest upset as GGG is in form, no sign of slippage as well. But it is in UK so takes a little off it

It'd be a greater win than any accumulated by the 2 greatest fighters of the last 20 years. I'll tell you that.

I'd place it on par with B-Hop moving up tp light heavy and beating Tarver clearly and in dominant fashion.

Hagler/SRL was controversial and still opposing sides differ on who won. Besides did Ray jump 2 weight classes to do it?

If Brook beats Golovkin, it will show us that Golovkin was overrated.

I would say it's a great win but no means on par with srl-haggler.. I chose FOTY because that's between good and the other best option..

I think you have to make the decision before they actually fight to decide where it ranks upset wise and not use hindsight and in retrospect.

If brook wins you hear GGG was overatefd? How about brook was understated? That way we can give credit where its due, rather than excuses from armchair critics with no credibility
