Are people really going to pretend that shot Mosley, never were type fighters in Cintron and Angulo, a beat up welterweight in Khan, and a glass-chinned shot Kirkland are worth praising much? Even the Mosley win was disappointing because Mosley lasted the 12 and had his moments.

I mean, those wins show Alvarez is at a certain level, but they're not exactly great wins.

I wish he would've just said he wasn't ready for GGG, I don't think he would've got near the disrespect. Still no damage that he can't recover from was done.

        Kirkland
        Angulo
        Cintron
        Mosley

Are irrelevant because they're either bums or past their prime.

Cotto, is his first good win. I'd say Lara is as well. Trout is ok. Khan had 3 fights at Welterweight...

As few people have already mentioned, there are asterisks next to his every big win.

Great fighters from the previous Era like Floyd, Wlad, Pacquiao and Hopkins all dominated in their biggest fights. He fails every time.

His shameless ducking of Golovkin doesn't help his case either.

I am still a big fan of Canelo. Hating him seems to be the popular thing to do on this board. He has lots of good wins for a 26 year old. I expect him to knock Smith out in style and show why he is probably the best Jr middleweight in the world and a top 10 pound for pound fighter.

Belts r passed around in boxing like a white cucks wife after comedy night at the apollo. Canelo lost the only significant fight hes in & ducked the next best 1. He talks about following in other "Mexican Warrior" footsteps but the ones i know took L's & came back & earned respect. Canelo is worried to take another...

Canelo is not a great fighter though. People seem to think he's an atg when they judge his performances against top fighters.

Winning competitive fights against guys like Lara, Trout, and Cotto isn't failing All three of those fights were universally regarded as 50/50 fights, beating all those guys isn't failing, specially against Trout and Cotto whom he beat very convincingly while not dominating.

Yeah he failed against Floyd, so did Manny and Marquez, two legitimate ATG's who at most won 3 rounds each.

He's easily one of the most accomplished active fighters...hopefully the GGG fight comes soon.

                    hes fought everyone but GGG.

He took two high risk low reward fights with lara and trout. Everything hes done is good outside of GGG.

GGG has his own ducking problems, and the thing about him is he hasnt taken ANY risks.

So canelo ducking GGG doesnt automatically make GGG better. Hell GGG is ducking canelo victim lara for ****s sake.

If we're just looking at who he beat and how, he's on Lara's level. I don't see many people calling Lara a p4p fighter or making threads why his resume is so impressive.
The Cotto fight could not have gone either way. Nor the Trout fight. The Lara fight absolutely could have gone either way and I would have preferred a draw at best for Canelo in that fight as he was not the clear cut winner. The other two though, you are dead wrong. Not debatable.
