Yep, Ward is going to try to fight Kovalev like he did Kessler.

Mentally Ward has it locked down..... I think he's right, he knows Kovalev gains motivation when he feels disrespected but he's not bothered one bit.

He has a point, he has faced several top european fighters in the amatuers and pros and for what I have seen, most arent very well versed inside.

Kovalev has a nice left hook, jab, and right to the body but their is so much more to in-fighting than just throwing punches.

You have to know when, wear to throw and clinch, when to roll and counter or catch and shoot. when to slip inside, outside and pivot.

this is going to be a test of wills come november

Nice to know Ward is fully respects and is aware of the danger Kov poses.
Conversely I also hope Kov is fully aware of what Ward presents as well!

If either one thinks the other is going to be a walk in the park they are in for a rude awakening.

            Round 1 goes to kovalev.

His mental warfare has ward trying to explain himself . Ward is even giving away his gameplan ..

Thos closer this gets the more shook ward will be. Kovalev is the real deal , even the fan boys have to admit the level of opposition for kovalev compared to ward is night and day.

Like I stated in another tread I think it was just misunderstanding and also Kovalev is looking for that extra motivation. No harm in that!

I'd beg to differ. Euro fighters do have inside game...they like to ****. Ward likes to stay on the outside and when he gets inside he holds...? I like both fighters but that is one hell of a generalization about european fighters.

I'm just now realizing that boxingscene takes an interview in one article and makes 10 other articles about it. LOL LOL LOL. I do think it was probably a misunderstanding, but either way, they are about to start training to kick each others' asses. I wouldn't be trying to kumbaya either. Kov is just looking for that extra gas... I like the mentality of both fighters in this...
