Which basically means no accountability / real #s anymore, because HBO is under the umbrella of a publicly traded company, whereas GBP is not.
No matter how GBP says Canelo-Smith did on PPV, you'll know it bombed in actuality when GBP changes its tune re: the Golovkin fight.
GBP is gonna find out real fast that Mexican-American fans are very knowledgeable about boxing, and not like the army of guillible Matchroom casuals in the UK who'd lick Eddie Hearn's arsehole, shelling out for PPV to watch Bellew-Cleverly II or Anthony Joshua vs. Breazeale LOL.Comment

Somewhere I read 5 mil $$ each, Brook and GGG.... with Brook getting some PPV cashish, GGG getting none. Career high payday for both guys. So IOW, no reason for any complaints from either side. As for the Barker story and it helping, Hearn could be right in it pumping this fight. It would be interesting to see the numbers on the PPV, and if they're better than the 'experts' predicted. The arena sold out in minutes, so no amount of hype does anything for that, but maybe PPV will increase.
It is funny though, how Abel just recently repeated his claim that GGG beats everyone 154-168, yet no one in GGGs camp would accept Canelo's 155 demand... and the one who gets the most blame is Canelo. I understand the MW weight limit, and understand fully both sides of the argument... but if Canelo gets the title vs Smith, THEN repeats the 155 offer.... THEN what does GGG do? Refuse? Maybe his team could find a way to refuse without looking like a duck. Who knows how the fans would react, but I'd guess GGGs stock would lower at least a little.
Interesting times for the sport right now.
That means no fight from these three beats him, not that he has to take whatever ****** demand these fighters come up with, like fighting for the 160 pound WBC, WBA, IBF, IBO, ring mag, and lineal titles at 1 pound above 154.
Who said they wouldn't. But they'd be ****** too for the biggest fight in boxing, unless it's a big flat fee. If I'm them let the pressure to continue to hurt Canelo.
We know it is or team Canelo wouldn't be bringing up GGG every freaken day.Comment

Both are true. It makes you wonder why, though...Comment

155 isn't a weight class. 154-168 is three weight class, which 160 sandwiched between. jesus christ you people are dumber than a bag of hair. There NEVER was a "demand" of 155, because Canelo / GBP never made a single offer to GGG for the fight. Not at 154.5, not at 155, not at 156, or even 157 or 158. There never was an offer. Period. Not a single one.
Why is that so difficult to comprehend?
Kinda uptight there aren't ya bub? You may wanna switch ladies... from inflatable to actual real live version.Last edited by PunchyPotorff; 09-08-2016, 05:26 PM.Comment

Plus he said Canelo vs Khan was a business fight what do you call this fight a business fight first off Brook took this fight like a champ and people still hate when he still beats most Welterweights outside of Spence but there are Middleweights out there for Golovkin besides him waiting for Jacobs or Eubank Sr to stay out and let Eubank Jr to make the fight with Hearn he should move up get Froch out of retirement or DeGeale Ramirez even Ward by 2018Comment
