If Mayorga still fights after this Ill give him a little respect...maybe. Seriously though, he was in the best physical shape of his life, according to him and his trainers, and mentally he wanted to kill Oscar and he still got killed. Thats gotta hurt. Now people cant take him seriously.Comment

NO doubt Mayo has got some balls and heart, he still wanted to fight but their was no way in hell he would have won.Originally posted by JDizzle79I hven't seen the fight yet, just read on it. Was his heart in it?! Did he look like he wanted to fight?!Comment

That was a freaking awesome fight to watch. When Mayorga went down the bar I was watching it at went freaking nuts! I'm so glad Myorga got KTFO. Anyone who talks that kinda trash about someone and their family better be able to back it up. That punk got what he deserverd.
After watching the Suns dominate the Lakers then Oscar win by TKO, this was a fantastic day for sports!Comment

Mayorga defnitely wanted to fight. He came out swinging from the bell; I thought he lost the fight in the first ten seconds with wild rights. He threw a lot of punches from beginning to end but Oscar simply blocked hiis telegraphed punches. Oscar never even really had to go on the attack and establish the jab.Originally posted by JDizzle79I hven't seen the fight yet, just read on it. Was his heart in it?! It was not Mayorga's desire that was the problem. If anything it was Oscar who looked too relaxed as if this fight was too easy for himComment

Yo Atwa, you forgot to change Mayorga's recordOriginally posted by Atwa_66**** you *****, mayorga would **** your **** up
J/K Mayorga simply got outclassed and blown away by a better fighter, a man who to be honest with you he had no business being in the ring with. De La Hoya came right out and did exactly what I knew he needed to do to win the fight. He jabbed Mayorga's head off from close range, and stayed within punching distance all night. He used his left hook beautifully, and everytime he landed it he hurt Mayorga. His right hand was crisp and hard, much harder than I've ever seen it.
In the first round, I was utterly shocked at how he just bombed Mayorga to the canvas with one shot. I knew De La Hoya would win, but couldn't imagine him doing it in this manner. De La Hoya controlled the pace the whole way and never was into the fight really. Everytime De La Hoya landed solidly, he hurt Mayorga.
It was simply a case of one fighter being an elite, and the other fighter not. After the Spinks fight, I knew that Mayorga no longer needed to be feared for his aggression and demeanor, because inside the ring it don't mean nothing. De La Hoya moves onto his next superfight, and Mayorga goes back to being a journeyman.Comment
