I agree. Everyone keeps talking about how much potential he has and how he got screwed. I just don't see it.

They will keep throwin him in the mix till he gets KO'd. Brewster won't be doing that, so I think we will have to wait a little while, maybe Sam Peter or James Toney could embarass him out of boxing.

i think this is the foul pole's last chance, i think he will lose to "the black rocky" even though this is a fight he should win. i hate ruiz, but when i watched Golota - Ruiz i thought huggy did just enough to win the fight, Brew will throw more punches than ruiz did, and will keep getting up if the foul pole knocks him down... for some reason, i think this will frustrate g and take him out of his game plan, maybe even enough to give Brew the chance to land enough shots to take a decsion

Totally agree, this is his last chance. But I actually think he'll win this one. Much as I like Lamon, he's just not very good.

Being a "champ" doesn't mean all that much anymore, now that guys are dropping belts.

It used to be somebody dropping the WBC but keeping the WBA and IBF...now guys are voluntarily dropping the only belt they have.

So Golota's "title" shot isn't all that grand. I think IBA champ James Toney said it right, "Titles don't make a fighter. Fighters make a title."

There are some good WBO champions right now; Lamon Brewster's not one of them.

Let's not forget, though, that shortly before making heavyweight history, George Foreman lost to Tommy Morrison.

But, yeah, against Tyson, Lewis, Bowe, Ruiz and Byrd, Golota is 0-4-1 with one no contest that he was losing.

I understand he dominated Bowe and the Byrd fight was close, but even restrained and on "good behavior" this guy still is a mess. He gets DQ'd twice against Bowe, quits against Tyson, hits Ruiz while he's down (look to the Peter/Diaz fight with how that foul should have been scored...)

The way I see it, he should have beat Byrd, but when he lost to Ruiz, he wouldn't have been champ anyway (we can argue he wouldn't have defended against another beltholder, but the point is, his 12 rounds against Byrd weren't good enough to impress the judges.) After the whooping Kali Meehan put on Lamon Brewster only to lose the decision, what does Golota have to do to get a decision?

He needs a clean KO in the Brewster fight.

Yeah but you can argue he beat Ruiz and Byrd, so I think he does deserve another chance at a title.
