Its a shame because even if brook does win he wont get much credit on this site, 99 percent of comments will be about golovkin being a 'hype job' and being worse than they thought, rather than brook being better than they thought
Dude so you expect us to pretend that Brook didn't su****iously fail to make any of the viable big fights at welterweigt since he won the title? He kept pulling out of fights, including a unification bout for the wbo with Vargas, and the whole time he was hiding behind his mandatories, until a live dog like Errol Spence came along and the he quickly ran away from the division as a whole. He knew there would be no excuses if he lost to either Vargas or Spence, that's obviously a big chunk of the reason he was so quick to take the GGG fight. The welterweight division was closing in on him with having to choose between a unification bout and a defense against the most feared contender in his division, and he ran away.

I understand that that is not the ONLY reason he took the GGG fight, because as I recall, he did call out GGG around february already, after he heard that Amir Khan had signed to call Canelo, he called GGG out immediately afterwards, so it's not entirely about ducking his welterweight compatriots, but the timing man, the timing is just way too su****ious.

Nevertheless, all credit is due regardless of whether he wins the fight or not, I just feel there were too many big fights coming at welter and that he didn't have to go this route. If he beat Spence and Vargas, he would have been the man at welter and many fighters, including Canelo, would have been dying to make a mega fight with him, but I guess that was too much of a big if for him.

spence and vargas have done nothing, and vargas is pretty average. brook beat porter whos done more than both of them. ring had brook as number 1 for a reason. Yeah spence is a really dangerous fighter but im not having it that brooks more scared of spence than golovkin and thats why hes gone up to middleweight.

You're missing the point. It's not about fear. It's about money. Brook jumped on the Golovkin offer to make 4M in one fight as opposed to having to earn it in multiple tough fights which would include Vargas and Spence and others.

yeah get fed up of the negativity on this site, every fights ****, every fighters overrated or a hypejob, anyone who looks forward to a fight is a fanboy or a cheerleader. Why cant people just give brook credit for taking on one of the most avoided guys in the sport, rather than saying 'hes running from spence' 'had unfinished business at 147' like ive seen frequently on here

I agree. Not sure how Spence has all this hype all of a sudden after just being a guy old enough to be his dad but whatever.

"Brooks ran from a small guy to fight the most dangerous fighter in boxing". How is that looked down upon?

Brook knows the spence fight is always going to be there for him why not let spence build his name a bit more?

i promise you this if you put spence vs brook on ppv right now the casual uk fans will have no ****ing clue who he is = crap money that wont justify the risk for both of them its a great fight on paper both are the best 2 welterweights in my opinion despite their resumes
